Two young male Reindeer have arrived from Blackpool Zoo. They will initially be held off-show while they settle in before moving into the Children's Farmyard later this year. |

Shadow, the zoo's last remaining Zeedonk, has sadly been put to sleep due to rapidly deteriorating health. At 34 years old she was also extremely elderly. Three Zeedonks were born in the early 1970s as a result of accidental mating between a male Chapman's Zebra and a female Black Ass. |

Spring births so far include 10 Wallaby joeys, 4 Otter pups, a baby Marmoset, 5 Raven chicks, and several Little Owl Chicks are due to hatch very soon. |

A group of baby tropical White-Spotted Jellyfish have arrived from The Deep, Yorkshire to take up residence in the BUGS exhibit and hopefully breed in the future. |

An Argentine Black and White Tegu (a type of reptile) called Diego has arrived and taken up residence in Pets Corner. |

Two female baby Meerkats have been born and are being hand-reared by keepers after being abandoned by their mother. They will join the Animals in Action demonstrations once they are old enough. |

Four Burbot fish have arrived. This species is the only freshwater member of the Cod family, and became extinct in British waters in the 1970s. |
