Description

Exmoor Zoo, located near Barnstaple off the A399 Ilfracombe road, is home to a wide variety of animals and birds from all over the world. The zoo specialises in smaller animals of the sort no longer seen in typical city zoos. It does also, however, have larger animals such as Cheetah too. The zoo is particularly family-friendly, with many activities and demonstrations for children of all ages at regular intervals throughout the day.

How To Get There:

By Car

From Barnstaple:

Follow A39 towards Lynton. At Blackmoor Gate, turn right onto A399, signposted South Molton. Continue on A399 past turning on left for B3358 (Challacombe). After about a further 0.75 mile, turn right onto unclassified road, and follow signs to the zoo.

From Tiverton (and M5 J27):

Follow A361 towards Barnstaple. Turn right at roundabout onto A399, towards Blackmoor Gate. Continue on A399 through Brayford village, then turn left after about 4.5 miles onto unclassified road, and follow signs to the zoo.

From Minehead and Lynton:

Follow A39 through Lynton towards Barnstaple. At Blackmoor Gate, turn left onto A399 towards South Molton. Continue on A399 past turning on left for B3358 (Challacombe). After about a further 0.75 mile, turn right onto unclassified road, and follow signs to the zoo.

From Ilfracombe:

Follow A399 through Combe Martin and Blackmoor Gate, towards South Molton. Continue on A399 past turning on left for B3358 (Challacombe). After about a further 0.75 mile, turn right onto unclassified road, and follow signs to the zoo
