Moti, the 15-year-old Asiatic Lioness has sadly had to be put down, due to an extensive disease of her reproductive tract that was seriously affecting her health. It is hoped that a new lioness will arrive in the summer to join Kamal and continue the breeding programme for this Critically Endangered species. |

Two baby Sulawesi Black Crested Macaques have been born, to mums (and sisters) Kendari and Jude. The first for the zoo and great news for this Critically Endangered species. The sisters arrived earlier this year from Chester Zoo. |

A male Red Panda called An An has arrived from Warsaw Zoo. He joins the resident female Lushan, in the hope that they will form a breeding pair when he is old enough - he is currently just 11 months old and should reach sexual maturity at around 3 years. |

A male Komodo Dragon has arrived from Prague Zoo, in order to take part in the European breeding programme for this Vulnerable species. |

An 18-month-old male one-horned Indian Rhino called Samir has arrived from Stuttgart. This species is something of a conservation success story: a victim of habitat loss and hunting and poaching, it reached the brink of extinction in the late 20th century. The wild population has now recovered from 200 to 2575 and the species is now listed as Vulnerable in the IUCN Red List. |

A pair of Red Titi Monkeys have arrived, from Blackpool and London Zoos, to form a new breeding pair as part of the European breeding programme for this species. The male is called Aztec and the female is called Inca. |

Mazumba, the female White Rhino who was born at the park in 2007, has moved to Beekse Bergen Safari Park in the Netherlands, as part of the European breeding programme for this species. |

Three young African Lions have arrived from Woburn Safari Park, where they were slowly being rejected by their pride. The group consists of a 3-year-old male called Bailey and two 6-year-old females called Malika and Naja. They are too closely related to form a breeding group. |

A female Giant Otter called Tupi has arrived from Leipzig Zoo. She will hopefully be joined by a mate in the near future. |
