A baby White-Naped Mangabey Monkey called Conchita has been born, only the second in the UK. Good news for this critically endangered species. She was to be born by emergency caesarean and her mother, Leonie, was too ill to bond with her in the first few days, so she is being hand-reared by keepers. It is hoped to re-introduce her to her mum, dad Lucky, and housemate Bella in their enclosure within about a month. |

A female baby Camel called Zeana has been born to mother Naisa, the first at the zoo. The other abult female Camel, Karakai, has also given birth, to Veneta, also female. |

A baby Madagascan Radiated Tortoise has hatched, believed to be the first in the UK. It hatched from a clutch of five eggs, so it is hoped that it will be joined by some siblings. Good news for this critically endangered species. |

A female baby Western Lowland Gorilla called Tiya has been born, to parents Tamki and Djala. She is being hand-reared by keepers at Howletts after unfortunately being rejected by her mother, who was also hand-reared. |

Two Black Mangabeys called Alf and Adam have arrived from an animal sanctuary in Belgium, after their previous owner became unable to keep them. A female Japanese Macaque (Snow Monkey) called Julie has also arrived from the same sanctuary. |
